In the Garden

Working in the garden this morning. Saw a Damsel Fly, a regular visitor since the pond has been here. Clearing what I thought was a dead plant from the pond, I disturbed this frog. The plant turned out not to be dead after all.

the dragonfly looks like a Large Red Damselfly, Latin name, Pyrrhosoma nymphula, and looks to be a male. Apparently very common and the first to appear in spring, flying from April to September (don't know how far that is I'm afraid).
One difference between dragonflies and damselflies is the way they fold their wings at rest the dragons outstretched, damsels, as here, folded over the body.
